Job Overview: A law firm seeks an experienced associate attorney to join its toxic tort litigation practice in California. The firm is looking for a motivated legal professional to contribute to its team-oriented approach to litigation. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex cases across multiple jurisdictions while collaborating with seasoned attorneys in a dynamic environment.
Duties:
Manage a caseload of toxic tort litigation matters across California.
Conduct and defend depositions, including those of expert witnesses.
Prepare clients and witnesses for depositions and trials.
Draft and respond to discovery requests and pleadings.
Conduct legal research and draft motions, memoranda, and court filings.
Participate in trial preparation and provide litigation support.
Ensure compliance with court filing procedures, including e-filing.
Maintain organized case files and accurate timekeeping records.
Requirements:
At least two (2) years of experience in toxic tort litigation, environmental liability, or complex civil litigation.
Strong litigation skills, including experience handling depositions and motions.
Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple cases.
Excellent legal research, analytical, and writing abilities.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment.
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
Active license to practice law in the state of California.
Skills:
Proficiency in legal research and writing.
Strong communication and advocacy skills.
Ability to analyze and strategize complex legal matters.
Knowledge of e-filing procedures and case management systems.
Capable of handling high-volume litigation caseloads efficiently.
