Job Overview:

A law firm in Minneapolis, MN, is seeking a Privacy and Data Security Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience to manage privacy and data security risks. The ideal candidate will have substantial knowledge of and experience with federal, state, and international privacy and data protection laws, along with strong analytical and communication skills.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage privacy and data security risks associated with collecting, using, and disclosing personal information.
• Advise clients on compliance with federal, state, and international privacy and data protection laws.
• Develop and implement privacy and data security policies and procedures.
• Conduct privacy and data security assessments and audits.
• Respond to data breaches and other privacy-related incidents.
• Represent clients in regulatory investigations and enforcement actions.
• Draft and negotiate data protection agreements and other related documents.
• Stay current on privacy and data security developments and trends.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience managing privacy and data security risks.
• Significant knowledge of and experience advising on compliance with federal, state, and international privacy and data protection laws.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Active CO, MN, NY, or PA license is preferred.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• CIPP/US, CIPP/E, or other relevant privacy certifications are a plus.

Skills:

• In-depth understanding of privacy and data security laws and regulations.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
