Legal Assistant RESPONSIBILITIES: Open new client files and request accident reports as needed. Provide exceptional customer service to clients while updating them on claim status and obtaining medical status updates. Send letters of representation to third party liability carriers. Work with health care providers to ensure that medical bills are being billed to clientâ€™s health insurance or med-pay. Update insurance companies and subrogation providers on status of claims. Request and review medical records & bills to obtain details of medical treatment from accident or loss. Draft damages letters to send to liability carriers. Act as the clients â€œgo toâ€ person for questions regarding medical treatment, bills etc. Maintain and update computer database (Time Matters).
Qualification and Experience
REQUIREMENTS: Strong administrative experience. Experience in a law firm preferred. Demonstrated superior customer service skills. Innovative problem resolution. Ability to work independently. Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast paced/dynamic environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Computer experience should include basic knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel. High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
