Legal Assistant-Insurance Defense The candidate will provide support to multiple trial Attorneys on auto and general liability cases. The position also assists in overall support of the office as needed and as assigned by supervisor (e.g. scanning, case matching, mail, photocopying, limited filing, CD duplication, PDF compilation, file conversion, etc.). Preparation and filing (both electronic and manual) of pleadings and motions/oppositions, discovery, extensive scheduling and calendar activity, reviewing mail, preparing correspondence, processing invoices for payment, document production, data maintenance in company systems and maintaining and operating within our electronic legal files. Interactions with clients, opposing counsel, Home Office and Claim partners, and Court personnel. Must be able to work independently in a computer based environment. Must be able to work with numerous County Court systems. Must be capable of data entry across multiple systems. Must have strong organizational skills especially regarding prioritizing work activities for multiple attorneys. Must be able to manipulate electronic documents such as TIF, PDF and JPG formats. Must have ability to work in a team-structured environment. Should have qualified candidates will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in a law office or corporate law department. Should preferably have Insurance defense background. Strong multi-tasking and time management skills. Should have Georgia Tort / Personal Injury experience is required. Should have experience working for a defense law firm is preferred but prior plaintiff law firm experience will also be considered. Trial support experience is a plus. Workers' compensation experience is a plus. Should have prior Tennessee work experience are encouraged to apply. Should preferably have experience working in a paperless environment. Must have experience in a high volume litigation environment, including not limited to document production, discovery preparation and production, maintenance of Outlook calendars, data maintenance, client/claim/home office contact. Should have strong written and verbal communication skills.
