Paralegal - Regulatory Rush University Medical Center’s Office of Legal Affairs is seeking a Regulatory Paralegal The candidate will report to Senior Regulatory Counsel, and works with the Compliance Team, Transactions Team and other members of OLA and the Division of Risk and Claims Management, as needed. Will work with the Senior Regulatory Counsel and Transactions Team to identify compliance issues in agreements. Reviews and drafts various agreements and other documents to advise internal clients, including physician service agreements, purchase agreements, service agreements, clinical affiliations agreements, lease agreements, and confidentiality agreements. Negotiates various agreements directly with outside vendors. Manages incoming requests for legal review of transactions for Rush and its affiliated entities. Prepares standard letters and reports. Researches and aggregates regulatory and sub-regulatory guidance applicable to healthcare entities. Gathers, organizes, summarizes, indexes, and maintains documents from various sources. Maintains a library of pre-approved form documents, contract clauses, templates, and historical documents, and adds or revises material as needed. Performs general transactional support for Rush and its affiliated entities.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Bachelor’s degree; a paralegal certificate or degree is required. 3-5 years as a regulatory paralegal is required. Familiarity with the healthcare industry and regulatory issues is required. Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Word and Power Point required. Must be proficient in designing and producing high quality reports and presentations. Must have strong critical thinking, problem analysis and problem solving skills.
