John Adams Fellowship The candidate will join Litigation Team and represent office and coalition partners in complex civil litigation to protect public health and the environment. Will work with other members of the Litigation Team and under the supervision of senior attorneys to develop and pursue litigation on behalf of office and its strategic partners. This litigation may include, for example, ongoing challenges to the Trump Administration’s rollback of hard-won environmental and public health advances; working in collaboration with and on behalf of environmental justice communities to address the disproportionate burdens placed on vulnerable populations; and cases to protect marine mammals from harmful ocean noise, to uphold federal carbon pollution standards for fossil-fueled power plants, and to inform consumers about and limit the presence of dangerous chemicals in food and water.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must be recent law school graduates. Should have exceptional legal writing and analytical skills; strong oral communication skills; enthusiasm for teamwork; openness to working with people from different backgrounds; a demonstrated commitment to public service or social justice work; and a record of academic or professional accomplishment. Significant hands-on litigation experience (for example, clinical or judicial clerkship experience) is preferred. Must either already be admitted to the bar of the jurisdiction in which they wish to work, or willing to complete the requirements for admission to that bar (including taking a bar exam).
