Legal Clerkship Duties: Under the supervision of Aid staff attorneys, will participate in case work in one or more areas of civil practice. May include conducting client interviews, making initial case assessments, obtaining discovery and other evidence, preparing clients for administrative hearings or trials, writing briefs and other legal memoranda, or attending community outreach and education events. Work on projects and cases that have a wide-ranging and lasting impact on client communities. Will be assigned a supervising attorney who will monitor their work and oversee representation of clients at administrative, municipal, state, or federal court hearings/trials.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: 2L and 3L students. Students with Rule 13 certification by the Missouri Board of Law Examiners may have the opportunity to represent clients in court.
Schedule: 20 hours per week.
