Associate Corporate Counsel The candidate drafts and negotiates a variety of arrangements and transactions that relate to the hospitals, hospital based clinics, physician clinics and other operations both on and off-campus. Should have JD degree from an ABA accredited law school. Should have 5-10 years’ experience representing health care providers in negotiating with vendors and other healthcare providers for both goods and services. Substantial experience in negotiating purchase agreements, professional services agreements and other arrangements related to healthcare operations. Familiarity with fraud and abuse regulations (including anti-kickback, civil monetary penalty, Stark and similar regulations), HIPAA, and antitrust compliance is a prerequisite. Should have Employment contingent upon State of Louisiana licensure or registration or receipt of In-House Counsel Certification. Should be Effective negotiator with excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work with supervision within a dynamic, heavily regulated and fast paced environment. The ability to partner with a client to understand the client’s needs and priorities and to develop practical solutions that are compliant with applicable legal concepts and regulations will be essential to success in this role. Excellent client management skills and the ability to prioritize competing demands and work within a team-oriented department will be necessary. and advise on legal aspects of contractual arrangements in a healthcare environment, with a focus on professional services, general services and transaction documentation. Contract form development, and develop general guidance and education on key contracting issues and alternative terms. Assist in developing internal policies related to best practices for contract processing and maintenance. Provide guidance and assistance to other colleagues in the Legal Services Department in a highly collaborative and team oriented fashion.
