Civil Litigation Paralegal Duties: For personal injury and civil rights litigation firm, keep assigned cases on track, organized, and up to date . Draft correspondence, settlement demands, discovery, and other pleadings. Maintain regular contact with clients. Prepare simple medical chronologies and damage summaries. Request medical records, bills, police reports, videos, photographs and other evidence. Schedule depositions, hearings, trials, mediations and client meetings. Assist with negotiating outstanding medical bill balances and liens. Coordinate attorney schedule and all case-related calendaring. Prepare settlement disbursement sheets . Perform necessary administrative tasks, including entry of information into case management software. Transcribe dictation. Assist with new case intakes & answering telephone as needed.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: 2 + years' experience in the legal field and Bachelor’s degree (or paralegal certificate) preferred. Strong communication, interpersonal, time management and customer-service skills required. Mastery of all Microsoft Office programs. Proficiency with legal case management software and legal research programs preferred. Ability to handle a large case load and prioritize tasks. Must be able to identify and meet critical deadlines. Attention to detail. Minimum typing speed of 50 WPM. Ability to work well not only independently, but also as part of a team. Ability to relate to individuals from diverse backgrounds to build client relationships.
