Entertainment Legal Assistant Duties : The candidate will help manage music deals. Constant interaction with artists, Hollywood representatives’, executives’, and production companies’ offices and personnel. Rolling calls, answering and logging incoming telephone calls. Constant communication with attorney throughout the day both in and out of the office. Carefully reads, drafts, proofreads and revises various documents, including music producer agreements, artist contracts, engagement letters, copyright registrations, and correspondence. Extensive scheduling and coordinating, both internally and externally, including client meetings, lunches, and conference calls. Online research and digital media utilization. Prepare, document, and amend travel arrangements. Review, sort, and distribute mail; reviews and calendars follow-up from documents, letters and other mail received. Inputs the attorney’s timesheets and client billing into the firm’s financial management application; reviews for accuracy and corrects any errors; and releases time by deadlines. Maintains accurate and up-to-date databases such as name/address lists, client/matter numbers. Open new business matters following established firm procedures. Maintain and update client files following local office and electronic filing system procedures. Maintain discretion and strict confidentiality of client and firm matters. Able to maintain/foster a positive attitude in a fast-paced, work environment. Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities/tasks. Makes sound judgment decisions and easily adapts to changing work situations. Grasp and apply new ideas and technology tools. Must be a team player with a positive, innovative, pro-active personality.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements : The candidate should have a college degree. Must have 3+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant in the Entertainment Industry. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office 2010 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Self-starter and driven individual.
