Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Duties: Collaborate and help develop a Compliance team that is viewed as a well-regarded and highly-valued strategic partner to the Organization. Build strong relationships throughout the Organization and find opportunities to educate the Company on what compliance is and why it is important to our collective success. Interact positively, professionally, and effectively through verbal and written communication with all professional contacts, both internal and external. Act with a view to the Company’s long-term strategic goals. Manage, prioritize, and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes. Maintain the privacy and confidentiality of information, protect the assets of the Company, act ethically and with integrity, and adhere to Code of Conduct and policies and procedures. Identify and elevate opportunities to positively impact social equity and inclusion in our work environment, community, and end-product. Perform research on regulatory questions and issues and provide direction to applicable areas of the Business. Communicate regulatory changes to applicable teams and oversee required changes to systems and processes. Investigate and resolve compliance issues; Provide documentation and solution drafts per quality and timing requirements. Complete projects per timing and quality requirements (e.g., company-wide communications, legal charts and tables, policies and procedures, training materials). Provide valued and timely support to the Compliance team, the Claims team, and other areas of the Business, as needed. Manage compliance projects, as assigned. Research and analyze compliance questions, analyze/compare legal restrictions, communicate information to Supervisor and/or Department Managers or Business Unit leaders, where appropriate. Interpret regulatory requirements and design charts and tables that communicate compliance/legal parameters in an understandable format. Identify, investigate, and resolve compliance issues, and provide documentation and draft solutions, per quality and timing requirements. As a frame of reference, maintain overall general knowledge of insurance industry and business operations, policies, and procedures. Work closely with teams across the Organization on various enterprise initiatives and regulatory compliance projects, as needed and required.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Proficient at using Microsoft business products (Word, Excel, Outlook). 2+ years relevant work experience. Commitment to and consistent demonstration of compliance with Hagerty’s Code of Conduct in the workplace. Strong analytical, research, and organization skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Possess a supportive and responsive manner. Excellent ability to exercise independent judgment and the ability to work with minimal direction. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work under deadlines.
Desired Experience: College degree or paralegal certificate. Strong understanding of relation between insurer, agent, insured, insurance laws/regulations, licensing requirements, and structure of insurance companies. Regulatory or insurance compliance experience. Experience with online research websites (Westlaw and Oden) and internet searches. Experience with relationship-building and negotiation.
