Staff Attorney The candidate will work on Domestic Violence Advocacy Project in Concord. Position Responsibilities: Represent low-income victims/survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking in divorce and parenting (custody) cases, administrative hearings and other civil legal cases; community engagement and education, including building partnerships with community health centers, local police departments, courts, crisis centers, and culturally specific community groups. Travel within the state and to national conferences will be necessary.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have New Hampshire license or willingness to take the next scheduled Bar examination, or eligibility for admission on motion. Must have strong oral and written communication skills and attention to detail; community engagement skills including commitment and ability to work with diverse groups of people, organizations, systems and multiple stakeholders; a team player who can work independently and demonstrate initiative. Preference is given to those demonstrating a commitment to civil rights, economic justice, and working with low-income people. Should have experience working with survivors of intimate partner violence, Latina/o survivors, survivors of gender based violence, immigrant and refugee populations and other traditionally underserved people a plus. Bilingual and bicultural also a plus.
