An established law firm seeks an Associate Immigration Attorney with 1-3 years of experience to provide comprehensive representation in immigration-related matters, including litigation, removal defense, and family-based immigration cases. Location

Duties

  • Representation:
    • Represent clients in deportation and removal proceedings before the Executive Office for Immigration Review.
    • Represent clients in adjustment and naturalization interviews before USCIS.
  • Family-Based Case Preparation:
    • Prepare waiver applications, including I-601A waivers and Stays of Removal.
    • Handle family-based immigration petitions and applications, such as I-130, I-360, and I-485 adjustment of status applications.
  • Litigation:
    • File appeals to the Board of Immigration Appeals and circuit courts.
    • Draft briefs for appeals and motions at trial and appellate levels.
    • Prepare motions, including Motions to Reopen, Motions to Continue, and Motions to Change Venue.
    • Handle custody applications for Special Immigrant Juvenile (SIJ) status and post-conviction relief motions.
    • File motions to suppress and advocate for acceptance into Pre-Trial Intervention and Drug Court.
  • Removal Defense & Asylum/U-Visa/DACA Applications:
    • Prepare and file applications for asylum, withholding of removal, U-Visas, T-Visas, DACA, SIJ, VAWA, and cancellation of removal.
    • Compile supporting evidence and submissions for EOIR filings.
  • Research & Writing:
    • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda at the direction of supervising attorneys.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of legal experience in immigration law or related areas.
  • Spanish language proficiency is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with paralegals and support staff.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the state bar where the role is based.
