Counsel 1- Consumer and Small Business Deposits The candidate to join the Deposits and Payments Section of its Consumer and Small Business Banking Division. The Section provides legal support and guidance associated with consumer and small business deposit accounts, payments, product development, and marketing. Role will provide legal support for consumer and small business deposit matters originating in The Private Bank (TPB), including banker escalations, power of attorney questions, corporate formation and authority documentation, legal review of TPB deposit-related policies and operating procedures, and other TPB deposit-related banking operations legal support. Also have some exposure to deposit product development and marketing. Responsibilities for this role will include: Development of subject matter knowledge and risk assessment skill, as well as building relationships within and outside the Legal Department. May research legal and regulatory changes, escalating issues to more senior members of the team as needed. Collaboration within the Legal Department and across business and staff functions to address legal and risk issues in a manner consistent with the best interests of firm is also expected. Participating in initiatives as needed.
Qualification and Experience
A Juris Doctorate (JD) degree is required. Active State Bar Membership must be obtained within 1 year of hire date is preferred. Should preferable have ability to research law and regulations and develop advice with respect to complex legal issues using public as well as company websites and databases. Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills are required. Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work while handling multiple matters are required. Should preferable have Experience working in banking or wealth management. Experience providing guidance on consumer and small business deposit account operations is desired. Close Date 11/18/2021
