ProfileAssistant County Attorney The candidate will represent the County in all matters related to contracts and public procurement including construction contracts, service agreements, leases, licenses, and development agreements. Duties will include negotiating, drafting and reviewing contracts and other transactional documents; advising County staff and the Board of Supervisors on procurement regulations, contract claims, and other legal issues; and representing the County in civil litigation.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have JD degree from an accredited law school and 6 years of relevant experience. Must be a member of the Virginia State Bar. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively with clients and third-parties, manage multiple projects timely and efficiently, supervise paralegal’s work, and attend late evening meetings as needed. Demonstrated expertise concerning the Virginia Public Procurement Act is preferred. Significant experience in contract matters is required.
