USOGC, Procurement Attorney, Senior Manager Duties: Opportunity to be a part of the Firm’s legal department by providing dedicated legal support in the areas of litigation, counselling, and corporate, commercial, and employment law. Play an important part in all aspects of regulatory proceedings involving the Firm and its personnel by supporting on regulatory issues, advising the Firm on matters relating to its operations, supporting the Firm’s client contracting function, and advising on matters related to employees. As part of the team, help with researching background information related to legal issues and prepare legal documents. Focus on drafting contracts or legal agreements, retaining files of prepared legal documents, and coordinating requests between internal and external counsel. Work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Encourage everyone to have a voice and invite opinion from all, including quieter members of the team. Deal effectively with ambiguous and unstructured problems and situations. Initiate open and candid coaching conversations at all levels. Move easily between big picture thinking and managing relevant detail. Anticipate stakeholder needs, and develop and discuss potential solutions, even before the stakeholder realises they are required. Contribute technical knowledge in area of specialism. Contribute to an environment where people and technology thrive together to accomplish more than they could apart. Navigate the complexities of cross-border and/or diverse teams and engagements. Initiate and lead open conversations with teams, clients, and stakeholders to build trust. Uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct.
Qualification and Experience
Required Qualifications: Juris Doctorate required with 4+ years of experience. Desired Qualifications: Demonstrates intimate abilities and/or a proven record of success in the areas including possessing ability to identify legal issues, and implement and develop negotiation strategies to address legal issues in line with firm policies and general legal principles; utilizing legal background and extensive knowledge of contract law, intellectual property law, as well as the legal principles, liabilities and risks associated with the acquisition of products, services and technology; optimizing in-depth knowledge and/or a proven record of success in procurement processes and systems and acting as a legal advisor on procurement transactions, preferably for a global professional services firm or other large, multinational corporation; having a mix of large law-firm and in-house experience as well as international experience is a plus; leading complex negotiations of legal terms, reviewing and drafting contract language, and coordinating the services of outside legal counsel when necessary as it pertains to supporting a procurement transaction; managing multiple transactions simultaneously and responding to tight timelines; writing clear, unambiguous contract terms and coordinating complex written and verbal materials for a diverse audience of internal stakeholders and third party vendors; and, communicating clearly and succinctly with all levels of staff across the legal department and within the firm.
