Senior Counsel - Employment & Labor Relations The candidate will provide prompt advice and counsel to internal clients on a variety of legal issues involving labor and employment law. Remain current on all aspects of labor law and provide updates to clients as warranted. Conduct preventative law training on employment-related topics such as ethical behaviors at work, harassment prevention and valuing differences in the workplace for all segments of the employee population. Work with internal clients to respond to allegations of discrimination and represent the company before administrative agencies such as the EEOC, NLRB, PHRC and NRC. Prepare cases and represent the company in labor arbitration proceedings. Work closely with outside counsel to ensure efficient representation of the company in civil lawsuits. Review all invoices and approve as appropriate. Juris Doctorate degree required. 8 – 10 years of relevant employment law experience representing large employers (5,000+ employees) in a variety of jurisdictions around the United States and Europe required. Mix of private practice and in-house counsel experience preferred. Experience in negotiating and interpreting collective bargaining agreements, assisting clients in the grievance process and successful representation of clients in arbitration proceedings required. Successful: representation of clients before fair employment practice agencies, OSHA, NLRB and DOL; employment law (discrimination cases) jury trial experience in a first chair capacity required. Global Employment law experience preferred.
