Trade & Customs Associate - FTZ The candidate will be responsible to conduct research and provide advice to clients, in a variety of industries, on Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ), import and export compliance matters. Analyze import/export data in support of global trade projects such as: customs duty savings assessments, including for FTZ opportunities; trade compliance reviews; and global trade management (GTM) system implementations. Be a valued member of the FTZ service delivery team and the GTM system implementation team. Support FTZ clients with validating data, implementing, testing, and using GTM solutions. Provide clients with guidance on requirements of U.S. Customs and Border Protection and participating government agencies (PGA) for import, entry and export transactions in an FTZ environment. Assist in the delivery of multiple client engagements on time and within budget; maintain active communication with clients in an effort to manage expectations and satisfaction
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and/or a Certified Public Accountant, Juris Doctor or a Master's degree in international trade with 1+year of import/export experience, with strong working knowledge of Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) processes, compliance activities, and operations, including participating government agency (PGA) reporting, as well as other import/export matters, such as the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, customs federal regulations, free trade agreements, entry processes, valuation and informed compliance methods. Previous experience using FTZ Inventory Control and Recordkeeping Systems and / or FTZ processing is preferred. Experience using and/or implementing Global Trade Management (GTM) systems, including experience with system testing and training. Strong technical skills with the ability to conduct in-depth reviews of import/export data using data and analytics (using Microsoft applications such as Excel and Access)
