Job Overview:
An established law firm specializing in Elder Law, Estate Planning, and Estate and Trust Administration is seeking a skilled Associate Attorney to join its team. The firm is based in Park Slope, Brooklyn, and offers a collaborative work environment. This is a full-time position ideal for an attorney with at least three years of experience in elder law and estate planning. The Associate Attorney will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload, providing high-quality legal services, and contributing to the firm's growth.

Location:

  • Brooklyn, NY

Duties:

  • Manage a high-volume caseload with the assistance of legal assistants and paralegals.
  • Draft wills, trusts, and handle Guardianship matters.
  • Oversee probate and administration proceedings, including estate and trust accountings.
  • Prepare estate tax returns and participate in estate litigation/motion practice.
  • Handle court appearances in various boroughs and counties.
  • Ensure all legal documentation and processes are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provide superior legal counsel to clients regarding elder law and estate planning matters.

Requirements:

  • At least three years of experience in Elder Law and Estate Planning.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage a caseload effectively.
  • Detail-oriented and able to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in estate litigation and motion practice is a plus.
  • Ability to navigate Surrogate's Court forms and utilize LexisNexis.
  • Fluency in English required; proficiency in Mandarin or Cantonese is a plus.
  • Must be able to meet the annual billable hours requirement of 1650.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New York State Bar is required.

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and team collaboration abilities.
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Surrogate's Court forms and LexisNexis.
