Helpline Attorney Position (fulltime) Legal Services for the Elderly, Augusta, Maine.LSE is a nonprofit organization that provides free legal help to seniors across Maine. The Helpline is located in Augusta but currently all staff are working from home. The Helpline offers legal information, advice and referrals to seniors exclusively via telephone in a wide variety of substantive civil legal areas, including health care, housing and debt collection. This fulltime Helpline Attorney will work in a team that includes another fulltime attorney, a paralegal who screens all first calls for help, and a supervising attorney. LSE’s regular office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 5:00.The successful candidate must have strong organizational skills and a proven ability to provide exceptional client service. Training will be provided in any unfamiliar areas of the law. This is a very rewarding position that offers someone the chance to make a real difference in the lives of Maine seniors.Applicants must be licensed to practice in Maine or eligible to be licensed to practice in Maine. Candidates who are sitting for the bar examination in the fall will also be considered. LSE offers a collegial work environment and a competitive salary and benefit package.
