Litigation Support Specialist
DUTIES: Discuss case-specific needs and use of software programs with attorneys and clients. Determine which software suits case needs, considering programs that link document indices and metadata with native ESI, images, and searchable text, along with deposition testimony. Develop case-specific databases to facilitate the retrieval of documents and testimony, and in preparation for document productions, depositions, and trial. Work with outside vendors (or in-house personnel) to identify documents uniformly through use of Bates labels or other means. Review documents and data to prepare instructions for processing, data conversion, and load files needed for the selected database solution. Work with outside vendors (or in-house personnel) to have documents scanned (“OCR’d”), for full-text transfer and review within software program, and/or imaged for review within software environment. Work with ESI outside vendors (or in-house personnel) to have electronic data collected, processed, and loaded into a database platform in preparation for review, production, depositions, and trial. Work with ESI outside vendors and attorneys to determine case needs and implementation of analytic and (TAR) technology assisted review tools to assist in review and production of large volumes of electronic data. Conduct automated searches in various database platforms to prepare for document productions, depositions, hearings, and trial. Manage document review projects by working with a team of vendors, attorneys, and paralegals to review documents in a database platform in preparation for production, and coordinate the preparation of documents to be produced in accordance with discovery deadlines and format requirements. Assist with the development of computer-generated graphics, demonstrative evidence, and presentations. Assist with the development of case- or client-specific extranets. Assist attorneys and paralegals in creating and developing case- or client-specific databases. Assist attorneys and paralegals in setting up war rooms for trial, imaging, overhead, etc. Assist attorneys in business and trial presentations. Based upon needs of all personnel, create training manuals for each software program used. Prepare and conduct computer training sessions for attorneys and paralegals. Advise on the purchase and maintenance of litigation support software. Work with programmers to revise software. Maintain documentation/information about hardware/software uses and available technology; attend continuing education programs about available and future technology. Work well with others as part of a team.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Paralegal or litigation experience is preferred. Experience with litigation support database software platforms (i.e., Relativity, CaseMap, Trial Director, and Summation) and a high school education or equivalent are required.
