Director Risk Management The candidate provides for the oversight of Risk Management Programs in alignment with firm mission and values, and according to regulatory requirements. Provides leadership for operational effectiveness, personnel management, fiscal accountability and positive relations with both internal and external key stakeholders. Develops annual objectives including goals and strategies and creates and monitors infrastructure, systems, processes and standards to achieve desired outcomes. Collaborates in directing recruitment, training, development and evaluation of Risk Management staff. Oversees development, implementation, and monitoring of operating and capital budgets. Accountable for meeting budgetary and operational targets. Ensures regulatory compliance related to Risk Management and its functions. Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develop/implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and provide guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future. Analyzes results from root cause analysis and facilitates sharing of results within the Network and System to include rapid follow-up of serious incidents and sentinel events. Serves in collaborative relationship with Community, System Quality, Patient Safety, and Organizational Integrity to ensure mitigation of risk and optimization of patient safety. Leads and actively promotes risk management in an integrated manner with continuous quality improvement initiatives. Works collaboratively and serves in advisory role. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Bachelorâ€™s Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration or related field equivalent education and/or experience. Graduate degree in Law or health related field preferred. Must have 7+ years of prior experience in Risk Management or equivalent. Should have 5+ years of management experience. Knowledge of State, Federal and accreditation laws and standards essential. Must be proficient in computer skills, including MS Office applications.
