Paralegal The candidate will support several attorneys and will be asked, among others, to provide administrative and paralegal support, conduct legal research, draft legal and business communications, process legal invoices, prepare regulatory filings, respond to service of process, and maintain business licenses and legal files. Will act as the ‘front face’ for a very busy, corporate legal department: answer phones, take messages, screen calls/mail, schedule meetings, and greet department visitors. Maintain legal and corporate records, filings, organization charts, annual statements, and other materials. Prepare legal documents, including affidavits, basic contracts, correspondence, releases/settlement agreements, research memoranda, and subpoena responses. Conduct legal research at the direction of counsel. Manage confidential legal matters and files; determine priority and respond appropriately. Manage department and attorney calendars and keep attorneys, internal clients and other departments apprised of calendar, action items, messages, and relevant business issues. Coordinate travel, meetings, and special events, including scheduling, room reservations, agenda creation, and logistics. Create, maintain, edit, and format documents electronically including agreements, letters, memos, presentations, and spreadsheets. Copy, scan, file, summarize, and track a variety of legal documents. Track and follow up on various action items to ensure schedules and due dates are met. Must have 3+ years of relevant experience as a paralegal or legal assistant in a law firm or in-house legal department. Should have Paralegal Certificate. High school diploma or GED is required. BA/BS degree is preferred. Excellent writing and verbal communication skills is required. High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is must.
