Job Overview: A law firm specializing in intellectual property is seeking a Semiconductor Patent Drafting Attorney to join their team in Fairfax, VA. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in patent preparation and prosecution, specifically in semiconductor technologies, and possess strong technical and communication skills.

Duties:

• Conduct patent preparation and prosecution work related to semiconductor technologies.
• Collaborate with inventors, engineers, and clients to understand technical concepts and draft patent applications.
• Analyze patent examiner responses and prepare responses to office actions.
• Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate searches and analyses.
• Provide strategic guidance on patent portfolio development and management.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of recent patent preparation experience, with a focus on semiconductor technologies.
• Technical degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, or equivalent fields.
• USPTO registration as a patent attorney or agent.
• Ability to quickly adapt and perform with minimal training.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• Comfortable learning and utilizing proprietary software tools.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Positive attitude and willingness to take on new challenges.
• Former Examiner experience is a plus.

Education & Certifications:

• Technical degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, or equivalent fields.
• USPTO registration as a patent attorney or agent.
