Senior Real Estate Paralegal Legal SENIO01099 The candidate will provide legal support and assistance to transactional attorneys with redevelopment projects, new development, property dispositions, acquisitions and/or financings, including: Assist with the preparation of closing documents and instructions to title company. Will title and survey review and analysis. Review, prepare and negotiate property easement agreements. Assist with gathering and reviewing due diligence materials. Prepare and delivery appropriate notices under applicable property-level agreements. Prepare, mail, track and obtain estoppel certificates from tenants and adjoining land owners. Provide timely response to legal requests from internal departments for preparation, review and analysis of legal documents or research of legal issues. Manage junior paralegals and administrative staff in connection with team projects, such as title document review projects, large-scale estoppel preparation and mailings, tenant notices. Research and analyses REAs, COREAs, Development Agreements, anchor tenant leases, loan agreements, contracts, loan covenants, and other legal documents as assigned and reports findings. Generate lease exhibits and construction exhibits for outside counsel. Work with transactional attorneys on financings and refinancing of the mall properties. Implement effective processes and procedures to identify, maintain and preserve information as required by law, regulation and business process. Work directly with Development and Construction teams on new development, re-development and easement matters. Work on special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have Bachelorâ€™s degree in Business, Real Estate or related area OR Records Management Degree/Certificate, J.D., Paralegal Certificate or IT/IS degree. Should have 7+ years of real estate experience including title and survey, development, acquisitions and dispositions experience. Notary public is preferred. Prior experience in real estate investment trust (REIT) or private real estate development company is highly desirable. Experience with commercial real estate transactions, including title and survey is required. Advanced knowledge of commercial real estate practices are needed. Excellent computer skills are needed. Information management knowledge and technical skills, including knowledge of records management systems, electronic records handling, imaging and emerging technologies are needed. Excellent communication, listening, interpersonal and organizational skills are needed.
