Associate Attorney

Profile

Full-time, associate attorney needed in an easy-going but fast-paced Columbia based consumer bankruptcy law firm. Seeking a highly-motivated, friendly, and upbeat individual. Applicants should be detail-orientated, able to meet deadlines, have good communication skills, and a high level of organizational skills. Position requires: daily contact with bankruptcy trustees, court officials and clients. Prior Bankruptcy experience a plus.

Duties include, but are not limited to, 341 hearing coverage, meeting with prospective debtors to determine their eligibility for appropriate bankruptcy chapter; preparation and filing of bankruptcy petitions, schedules, financial statements, and filings related to the commencement, continuation and conclusion of such cases, drafting pleadings and memoranda of law, attending hearings, maintaining excellent client service for all assigned cases, and tracking case work through our case management systems.

Required Skills and Specifications

• Must exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must exhibit intermediate computer/technical skills.
• Must be well organized.
• Reliability, dependability and punctuality are of the utmost importance.
• Bar Admission, active and in good standing in South Carolina is required.
