Job Overview

A well-regarded law firm is seeking a highly skilled Government Contracts Associate for its Washington, DC office. The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of experience in government contracts law, including familiarity with the Court of Federal Claims, Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals, or Civilian Board of Contract Appeals. This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level associate to join a nationally recognized practice group, gaining significant responsibility and exposure to clients.

Duties

  • Provide legal counsel on government contracts and related matters.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and briefs.
  • Represent clients before government contract tribunals such as the Court of Federal Claims and Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to government contracts law.
  • Assist in developing legal strategies for clients in the government contracting industry.
  • Work closely with senior attorneys and clients on complex cases.
  • Manage multiple deadlines and provide excellent legal service under pressure.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of experience in government contracts law.
  • Clerkship with the Court of Federal Claims, Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals, or Civilian Board of Contract Appeals preferred.
  • Strong academic background with excellent writing and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage high-pressure situations and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent professional references.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in a state bar, with eligibility to practice in Washington, DC.
