Assistant General Counsel ECM IMP The candidate will drive and implement Legal strategy regarding Contract Management (ECM) and Legal’s support of Global Procurement. This will include: Lead and coordinate, in partnership with the ECM Ops Team and Nike Global Contracting Office (GCO), ECM implementation and strategy (drive process, monitor progress, coordinate global efforts of ECM working groups, ensure enterprise-wide adoption, etc.). Lead efforts re streamlining of processes, policies, contractual standards and procedures, in partnership with Finance, Controlling, the GCO and Legal stakeholders. Coordinate and streamline Geo lawyers activities re ECM and procurement. Represent Legal at the Procurement Leadership Table. Drive efficiency based initiatives, ensuring that Legal serves Procurement and the Business at the speed of the Triple Double, while effectively managing enterprise risks. Lead and coordinate Legal’s support of Frictionless Procurement strategy. Further, will be involved, from time to time, in contractual matters including to: Structuring, drafting, reviewing, negotiating and advising on a wide range of commercial agreements; Preparing and delivering training programs to enhance compliance and avoid litigation; Selecting, retaining and managing outside legal counsel to ensure high-value, cost-effective representation; Working closely with the GCO to develop templates, playbooks and processes to endure the efficient delivery of legal services in support of ECM and Procurement; Supporting other department needs as necessary.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have JD degree or equivalent in other jurisdictions. Should have 8 years’ experience in the practice of general business law including information technology and intellectual property. Proven, robust international experience in the above described areas is required. Must have excellent English (written and spoken) language skills. Additional language skills strongly preferred. Law firm and in-house experience in the above areas is preferred. Should have strong team player with proven record in leading cross functional projects, building consensus, driving change and mentoring others. Must have ability to recognize and elevate complex and/or controversial issues to senior management in a timely and effective manner, and business acumen. Should have ability to manage confrontation in a sensitive manner and develop strong working relationships across multiple function areas internally and externally.
