A law firm in Newark, NJ, seeks a skilled Chemistry IP Associate Attorney with expertise in organic chemistry and patent law. The role involves drafting and prosecuting chemistry patent applications, providing strategic counsel on intellectual property matters, and collaborating with clients in the pharmaceutical sector.

Duties:

• Draft and prosecute chemistry patent applications, specializing in organic chemistry.
• Conduct patentability assessments and prior art searches.
• Analyze technical documents and advise on patent strategy and portfolio management.
• Assist in patent litigation and enforcement actions related to chemistry patents.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with clients, inventors, and scientists.

Requirements:

• Advanced degree in Chemistry, with a focus on Organic Chemistry (. preferred) or 5+ years of significant industrial experience in organic chemistry.
• 2-6 years of experience in intellectual property law, specifically in patent prosecution.
• Admission to at least one State Bar (New Jersey preferred) and registered to practice before the . Patent and Trademark Office.
• Superior academic credentials with a strong record of achievement.
• Experience in drafting and prosecuting chemistry patent applications.
• Knowledge of patent laws and regulations, especially in the pharmaceutical industry.

Education and Certifications:
