Legal Assistant / Paralegal Duties: Assist with probate and estate planning matters. Draft and edit correspondence, estate planning documents, and probate pleadings. Research and collect data to draft inventories, accountings, petitions, and annual reports. Manage estate and trust administration proceedings. Diary and maintain calendar for deadline dates. Communicate and follow-through with clients, outside agencies, and lawyers. Anticipate client and attorneys’ needs, organize and set up meetings and appointments in a timely fashion, update files and provided daily calendar reminders of all scheduled meetings, court hearings, and appointments. Schedule appointments, meetings, hearings, and telephone conferences. Maintain client database. Manage multiple attorney schedules. Answer multiple line telephones, route calls, and answer routine client questions. Receive, read, and route incoming email. Maintain files, documents, and records.

Qualification and Experience

Requirements: Some prior legal experience. Must be dependable, personable, organized, and professional with a strong attention to detail and ability to multitask. Attention to detail a must. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel. Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal). Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills. Ability to adapt and work effectively with various levels of legal staff. Can handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality. An ability to work under pressure and maintain flexibility regarding work assignments is required.
