Paralegal/Legal Assistant The candidate works under the direction of a Lead Project Manager, Project Manager, Supervisory Paralegal, or Project Supervisor. Performs the following tasks while complying with established procedures: responsible for assisting in legal and document cite checking, assisting in compiling appendices, assisting in briefing support, conducted legal and document research, preparing correspondence for mailing and faxing, provides trial assistance as needed in preparing witness binders, witness boxes, exhibit binders, and electronic files for use in the courtroom; provide assistance in and outside of the courtroom as needed at trials; conducts legal and document research as needed; spreadsheets for loading and updates data within Case Map; and assists on project related tasks as needed. An equivalent level of legal training is substituted with the approval of the COR. Must have 1+ year of litigation paralegal experience. Automated litigation support experience is valued. Must have basic legal knowledge, including knowledge of standard legal citation to cite check legal motions and memorandum and must have sufficient experience with legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw to perform basic legal research and excellent written and oral communication skills, thorough knowledge and hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including Concordance, Case Map, Symantec, word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware systems. Must have basic familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of e-discovery procedures and resources. Experience working in the courtroom; trial experience very helpful. Automated litigation support experience valued. Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure will be very important.
