Atlanta office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks a litigation attorney with experience. The candidate will represent clients in all phases of litigation, including investigation, pleadings, discovery, trial, and appeal. Will attend, conduct, and participate in council and board meetings, court appearances, hearings, depositions, mediations, trials, and case management conferences. Conduct complex legal research and discovery investigations. Draft and manage discovery requests and responses, motions, case evaluation summaries, court orders, settlement agreements, affidavits, pleadings, motions, and legal memorandum. Review discovery responses and deposition transcripts to develop litigation strategy and make settlement recommendations. Prepare litigation summaries and reports for clients and insurance carriers. Negotiate with opposing counsel to settle claims and resolve disputes. Communicate closely with clients during the course of litigation to provide legal analysis, status reports, and legal advice. Represent clients in State, Federal, and other administrative hearings. Work with minimal supervision. Provide legal opinions, counsel, and advice on various matters to City Administration, Mayor, City Council, City Attorney, department managers, division heads, boards, committees, employees, and other City representatives. Advise city leaders on matters related to ethics, personnel, ordinances, contracts, land use, taxes, and finance. Stay informed and knowledgeable concerning State and Federal laws impacting municipalities. Draft municipal charters, referendum, ordinances, policies, procedures, and contracts. Review all contracts and memoranda to ensure that client legal interests are not compromised. Develop expertise in municipal and government-related law and other public interest topics. Sit first-chair complex litigation in State and Federal courts. Effectively and independently litigate complex civil disputes and represent pubic and governmental clients in prominent matters. Proficiently research complicated legal questions and communicate information to an assortment of diverse clients. Effectively and simultaneously complete a multitude of complex assignments independently. Navigate and understand novel legal issues and emerging areas of law. Must have an Active Georgia Bar License. Should be Actively practicing law for at least 3 years. Staff attorney and/or judicial clerkship experience preferred.
