Key Responsibilities

  • Advising Clients:
    • Guide employment-related compliance, including worker classification, wage and hour, immigration, unions, and collective bargaining.
    • Advise on employment policies, handbooks, and equal opportunity laws.
  • Drafting Documents:
    • Draft employment agreements, separation agreements, and restrictive covenants.
    • Provide advice on reductions-in-force and WARN Act issues.
  • Due Diligence and Transactions:
    • Conduct employment-related diligence.
    • Handle employment-related representations and covenants in transaction documents.
  • Client Management:
    • Maintain strong client relationships and ensure client satisfaction.
    • Collaborate effectively with client teams and firm colleagues.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 4 years of employment law work experience at a nationally recognized law firm.
  • Specific experience in:
    • Advising clients on employment-related compliance.
    • Drafting employment and separation agreements.
    • Advising on restrictive covenants.
    • Conducting employment-related due diligence.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Strong writing and organizational skills.
  • Superior client-team-focused work ethic.
  • Membership in good standing of (or eligibility to waive into) the CA Bar.

Education and Certifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Membership in good standing of the California Bar or eligibility to waive into the California Bar.
