Senior Manager of Competitive Intelligence
The candidate will be responsible for leading the firm’s competitive intelligence efforts providing strategic and analytical support to identify business development opportunities and strengthen client relationships. Reporting to the Director of Sales and Client Development, the CI Senior Manager will oversee a direct team of analysts and together take the lead in delivering industry and client focused analysis and intelligence reports for the pursuit of new business, firm initiatives, and peer analysis to ensure the firm is best positioned in the market. Additionally, the CI Senior Manager will work closely with the firm’s research librarians and information services staff to ensure a collaborative and robust competitive and research service offering to the entire firm. Supervise and manage the competitive intelligence team which work-flow and capacity management, professional development, and performance management. Conduct in-depth research and analysis of companies, industries, technologies, marketplaces, and competitors to uncover key, actionable information and insights for business development strategy. Oversee CI analysts doing the same. Provide succinct, meaningful recommendations to help inform the firm-wide business development and marketing strategy. Collaborate with Research Services to leverage team and work as a cohesive unit to deliver exemplary research and client services to the firm in response to research requests. Develop reports and establish a process to deliver high level metrics for the CI team to firm management. Ongoing assessment and evaluation of existing and potential research tools to ensure the firm is at the forefront of utilizing market tools for the benefit of competitive analysis. Review, enhance, and introduce CI team’s approach to monitoring Ffrm’s top clients and industries to pro-actively deliver timely analysis and insight. Support the firm’s client teams by aligning CI team with individual client teams to monitor client activity. Conduct peer analysis for the potential lateral recruitment working closely with the firm’s recruiting team. Build systems and infrastructure to create framework for Competitive Intelligence function utilizing technology, financials and RIS resources. Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or related field' advanced degree (J.D., M.B.A., M.I.S.) preferred. Should have 5-7 years of related experience, including complex research an/or competitive intelligence tools and processes required.

You all are doing a great job. I've heard some things that I know are obvious lies, but that's expected. Everyone can't be privy to everything.

Pros : There are so many great people working here. They are willing to share knowledge and help each other. The office tries to keep staff mingling and involved by frequent appreciation events. There is also a great benefits package.
Cons : You have to pay for your own parking. The firm has paid spots available in the building, but they are reserved for attorneys. Although most people agree the pay is good, let them make you an offer. This is not necessarily unique to this company, though. If you unknowingly low-ball yourself, they will accept it.
