Assistant General Counsel The candidate will be responsible for advising and liaising with senior executives with respect to healthcare fraud and abuse compliance and transactional matters. Will be serving as principal legal advisor for companyâ€™ US Surgical business, providing advice on a broad range of topics, including commercial transactions, healthcare fraud and abuse compliance, and regulatory and quality issues. Providing guidance on risks and best practices related to Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, and Food Drug and Cosmetic Act. Negotiating and drafting a variety of commercial transactions. Providing support in establishing and documenting sales programs and promotions. Maintaining active communication with companyâ€™ Deputy General Counsel about legal risks. Adapting, implementing, and delivering training on legal department policies and procedures. Contributing to business group and legal department development of policies and standards. Managing outside counsel engagements, including budgets and fees. Proactively identifying legal risks affecting company, and collaborate with senior management to mitigate risks. Following and advising on major developments in laws and regulations. Performing all other duties as assigned. JD Degree from an accredited law school is required. Member of US State Bar in good standing required. Should have 7+ years of legal experience. Prior practice with multinational law firm and relevant in-house experience is preferred. Experience in highly-regulated industry required; medical device, pharmaceutical, or life sciences experience preferred. Expertise in Anti-Kickback Statute, Food Drug and Cosmetic Act, and other laws and regulations impacting US healthcare industry desired.
