Job Overview
A law firm is seeking an experienced Family Law & Litigation Attorney to join its team in Auburn, WA. This full-time position offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing for both in-person and remote work. The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of experience in family law, including litigation and trial experience. The attorney will be responsible for handling a variety of family law matters, including divorce, support, custody, adoptions, guardianship, and domestic violence. Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as courtroom experience, are required.
Duties
- Conduct legal research using platforms like Westlaw to support case preparation.
- Prepare and file legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and negotiations.
- Advise clients on their legal rights and obligations under relevant laws.
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients in family law matters.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to develop case strategies and ensure comprehensive representation.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar association is required.
- 3-4 years of litigation experience, with a focus on family law.
- Proven ability to negotiate effectively and advocate for client interests.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Courtroom experience, including trial preparation and client representation.
Education
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Certifications
- State bar admission (Washington or ability to transfer).
