Qualifications: JD Degree; 8+ years of federal civil litigation or comparable legal experience, including demonstrated knowledge of procedural and substantive law applicable to the litigation of constitutional and statutory civil rights claims (with experience challenging conditions of confinement a bonus); 2+ years of managerial experience of legal staff to include hiring, training, performance evaluation, mentoring, etc.; Demonstrated leadership in building and maintaining an innovative and positive working culture; and Admission to the Bar in Florida or willingness to sit for the Bar Exam after relocation to Florida. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent research and writing skills; Creativity and a demonstrated willingness to take calculated risks in crafting and executing strategies; Initiative, vision, and a proven commitment to the struggle for social justice; Demonstrated knowledge of, and passion for remedying, injustices and inequities in the criminal legal system, including on behalf of people with disabilities; Excellent and consistent attention to detail; Excellent case management skills, including the ability to manage multiple moving parts of litigation and meet deadlines; Aptitude for and willingness to be a team player; Commitment to ideals of justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion; and Commitment to fostering an anti-racist work culture and to anti-racist principles and learning.
