Public Relations Manager RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and execute media strategies that support the firm’s business initiatives. Build strong relationships with relevant media contacts, pitching timely and tailored stories. Identify opportunities for placing attorney-authored articles and other coverage. Create news releases and other media materials, including media advisories. Support business development efforts by researching, drafting and contributing to news releases and other announcements. Serve as in-house reporter on internal firm events and work closely with business development team to leverage events as part of public relations and communications outreach. Provide support on social media strategy and overall outreach. Stay abreast of market intelligence and industry trends in order to make recommendations for the advancement of business development initiatives. Lead the development of systems and process for the public relations function – including the maintenance of press lists, responding to legal directories/guides, disseminating press coverage, tracking of analytics and researching emerging trends. Maintain the firm’s PR/editorial calendars, prepare and submit all responses for legal directories, guides, other rankings and surveys. Maintain working relationships with lawyers throughout the firm. Increase awareness of AGG commitment to the community (i.e. charitable and pro bono efforts). Prepare regular reports assessing media coverage and other benchmarks for the CMO.

Qualification and Experience

QUALIFICATIONS: 5-7 years of communications, public relations and/or media relations experience preferably in a professional services, legal, corporate or similar environment. Four-year college degree, preferably in marketing, journalism or related field. Strong attention to detail with exceptional oral, written, strategic communications skills and the ability to utilize these skills to enhance the firm’s reputation and brand. Ability to distill complex messages into clear and concise communications. Be a flexible, team player with a can-do approach, ability and willingness to learn new skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and understanding of social media platforms. Have good judgement and the ability to deal with sensitive issues effectively, maintaining confidentiality and trustworthiness at all times. Must be self-motivated and have strong self-management skills, including the ability to manage time and workload. Must be able to work with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment. Experience with a media monitoring software platform (such as Meltwater) is preferred.
