Raleigh office of our client seeks mid-level employment law associate attorney with 4-6 years of experience. The candidate will mostly operate as in-house outside counsel providing primary support for Firm clients developed through a locally-operated legal services plan for member businesses. Will utilize a breadth of employment law knowledge to support business clients on legal compliance issues. Advise and counsel clients on a variety of matters from hiring, disciplinary, and termination techniques to employment, restrictive covenant, and severance agreements and the associated legal risk. Has participation in marketing efforts, such as print and e-news, participation in webinars, and participation in live presentations and trainings on employment law topics. Must have experience providing guidance to business clients to avoid liability under NC and federal employment laws, such as Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, FMLA, FLSA and the NC Wage and Hour Act; and revising and/or drafting employment-related agreements, such as employment agreements, independent contractor agreements, non-competition, non-solicitation, non-disclosure agreements, severance and release agreements, and settlement agreements. Should have license to practice law in NC in good standing. Previous experience preparing and presenting webinars and presentations on HR and employment law-related topics is essential. Work experience in human resources is preferred. Previous experience counseling clients in a variety of industries; and some OSHA, labor, business immigration, workers’ compensation, and/or ERISA experience is desired.
