Paralegal/Legal Assistant (Civil Litigation) Duties: Assisting attorneys in answering discovery; completing deposition and medical record summaries; building and maintaining timelines; legal and factual research; assisting with trial preparation and other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Must be a certified paralegal from an accredited institution; Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Ability to work independently as well as part of a dynamic team environment; Organized and proactive approach to work assignments, ability to prioritize; Professional attitude and demeanor; Efficiency in litigation support skills, including preparation of pleadings and discovery, and familiarity with California Rules of Court; Prior experience assisting an attorney who is preparing a case for trial; Prior experience summarizing depositions, including medical and expert depositions; Proficiency in social media research; Experience with Word, Excel, legal calendaring software, and basic office equipment; Proficiency in MS Office programs and Adobe Acrobat Professional; Experience with billing time and billing software; Experience with trial presentation software (i.e. Trial Director) is a plus; Experience with litigation support program (i.e. Case Map) is a plus.
