Husch Blackwell, LLP is seeking a Patent Agent or Patent Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Software Engineering or other like disciplines, and admission before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. At least one year of related law firm and/or industry experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications is preferred. The Patent Agent or Patent Engineer will have the following responsibilities: - Prepare and prosecute patent applications in the chemical and mechanical arts - Communicate with other practitioners and staff - Provide high-quality services to domestic and foreign clients - Assume significant client responsibilities Applicants must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a strong academic background, and the ability to deliver superior service to all internal and external customers. Additionally, applicants must have excellent organizational and time management skills, the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple simultaneous tasks, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. The physical activity of this position includes reaching, pushing, pulling, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion.
