ProfileParalegal The candidate will be responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to company’s legal department in connection with the administration and operation of company’s response to document subpoenas, preparation of legal documents, and litigation support. Essential Functions: Assist lawyers in the preparation for and closing of various corporate transactions including mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, corporate formations, and dissolutions; Respond to document subpoenas and auditors requests for information, including the collection of litigation and billing information and assisting internal legal team and outside counsel; Interface with various departments and develop and maintain professional business relationships with senior management. Other Functions: Perform miscellaneous administrative and clerical tasks; Undertake special projects of a complex nature under general supervision.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Post-Secondary education preferred. Should have 2+ years of legal administrative support experience in a professional environment. Familiarity with legal documents and case components such as subpoenas, affidavits, pleadings, appeals, briefs and closings. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Excellent interpersonal and listening skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling and punctuation. High level of judgment/organizational skills and initiative to deal with complex duties.
