Paralegal The candidate will provide litigation/paralegal support to General Civil Litigation and Employment Units, including case management, the preparation, citation checking and filing in federal and state courts of legal memoranda as well as management of document discovery. Will perform minor legal research using online legal research tools. Review and approve outside counsel invoices, communicate with the Department or Risk Management on a frequent basis and track outside counsel assignments. A bachelor’s degree in related field and/or Paralegal Certificate is preferred. Should have 5+ years of Litigation paralegal experience. Must have working knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures and case management systems. Should have well-developed written and oral communication skills, proficiency in time management, the ability to work independently and as a team member, and the ability to organize and analyze large quantities of written and verbal information. Word processing skills required. A solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and cite-checking, and legal search engines is required. Deadline: November 27, 2017.
