Legal Assistant/Records Coordinator The candidate will be requesting client private & public records such as medical, tax, education, and employment records. Chronologically organizing client medical records, treatment bills and claim files. Reviewing records for omissions, errors, and facts to support the case. Working remotely with Finance Manager in daily monitoring and posting of case-related costs. Working remotely on some daily accounting tasks with Financial Manager. Scanning, processing and posting incoming documents to electronic files. Updating and posting monthly In-House case costs. Monitor closing case process and filing of various documents. Electronic and physical file management. Setup, edit 3rd party providers in the firms' case management system (Needles) as needed. Updating information in the firm's case management system. Tasks assigned by attorneys and case managers/paralegals, along with various administrative duties such as answering phone, ordering supplies etc.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have experience handling medical records, insurance claims and/or an understanding of HIPPA Compliance laws. Must have an acute attention to detail, strong organizational skills, ability to communicate effectively over the phone, time-management skills and a great attitude. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Adobe PDF, along with advanced computer skills is required. Must be able to work full-time in a team setting.
