Assistant Attorney General The candidate to provide defense litigation services for the Vermont Department of Corrections (DOC). The job requires at least 3 years of relevant legal experience. Represent DOC in all state civil courts, including small claims courts, federal courts and occasionally state criminal courts conducting all aspects of litigation including discovery, motion and trial practice, and appeals. Attorneys also provide legal advice on other DOC issues including sentence computation, contracts, grants, MOUs and various interstate and regional compact agreements. with litigation experience, preferably civil, are encouraged to apply. Candidates must possess excellent research, writing, and courtroom presentation skills. Must be a member in good standing of the Vermont bar, or eligible to waive in.
