What You Will Do: In this role, you will primarily focus on traditional labor law, representing employers in cases related to labor relations, collective bargaining agreements, and unfair labor practices. You will also have the opportunity to work on other assignments, such as advising employers on federal and California workplace laws and conducting due diligence for workplace law issues in mergers and acquisitions. Your responsibilities will include handling unfair labor practice charges at the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), researching and writing, representing management in NLRB elections, providing legal advice on union organizing, corporate campaigns, card check and neutrality agreements, negotiating collective bargaining agreements, handling grievances and arbitration proceedings, obtaining mass picketing injunctions, and advising employers on wage and hour issues, leave management, disability accommodations, and other workplace issues. You will also have the chance to review handbooks, policies, and forms for compliance with federal and state law, as well as conducting management training on labor relations, federal and California workplace issues, and harassment, discrimination, and retaliation. In this role, you may also be required to travel regularly for business purposes. What You Will Bring: To be successful in this role, you must have a JD from an ABA accredited law school and 4-6 years of experience in litigation or advice work as an attorney. Traditional labor experience is preferred, as well as experience in federal and/or California advice and counsel work. You must also be a member of the California Bar and have a strong understanding of current agency enforcement techniques. Additionally, you must have excellent attention to detail, strong organizational and project management skills, and excellent written and oral communication skills. Fluency in both English and Spanish is preferred, but not required. This role may also involve regular business travel. We offer a competitive salary, with a salary range of $203,500 - $220,500 for this position in our California offices. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors.
