Senior Paralegal The candidate will assist in-house counsel with drafting and review of confidentiality agreements, operating agreements, purchase agreements, design phase agreements, construction phase agreements, force account agreements, and internal corporate governing documents. Will organize and maintain the Law Department’s contracts repository, ensuring all executed agreements are available for attorney reference. Liaise with the Real Estate Department regarding deeds, lease agreements, transactions, acquisitions and other legal matters. Partner with the Senior Manager, Legal Support in identifying areas of improvement in case management processes, and act as a mentor to junior support staff. Conduct title and survey reviews. Review environmental site assessments. File and document organization and maintenance. Perform legal research involving developments in laws concerning real estate, and their impacts on firm’s operations. Create new folders and maintain existing folders utilizing an automated records management system. Prepare working files for attorneys. Organize files for off-site storage, as well as active file maintenance. Carry out extensive legal research, including gathering and analyzing research data, such as statutes, decisions, legal arguments, codes, and documents. Draft responses to third-party subpoenas. Prepare and manage cases for attorneys by organizing legal correspondences, and maintaining documents in paper and electronic filing systems. Lead other special projects, legal support tasks, and administrative duties as needed. Should have 5-7 years of experience working in a large law firm or corporate legal department environment. Experience working with railroads or other industrial environments with extensive personnel policies, labor agreements, and discipline processes is preferred. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
