Paralegal Specialist, GS 11 The candidate will provide litigation support by assembling case files for administrative and court hearings, preparing witness affidavits and declarations, effecting record of service o process and assisting in the formulation and response of discovery requests. Manage library and office files assets and subscriptions used by counsel, associate counsel, and the incumbent in conducting legal research. Research legal references in US Code, case law databases, and secondary resources applying expert knowledge of legal principles, rules of practice and procedures, legal terminology, substantive doctrines, and procedural posture of cases. Draft and edit non-legal memorandum, research, and office reports, and correspondence; as well as point papers, information papers, decision papers and presentations. Establish standard office procedures to include office budget, supplies, case docketing and managing, administration of data for the litigation management system, and maintaining non-litigation management systems and files. Traveling is required.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have the following qualifications:
Experience can be substituted with a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.M., if related.
