Racial Justice Fellowship The candidate will work in a number of subject matter areas, including racial/religious profiling, criminal justice, religious liberty, and economic justice. Will be responsible for coordinating organisationâ€™s racial justice work and will play a pivotal role in ensuring that issues of racial justice are incorporated into organisationâ€™s broader advocacy efforts. Develop and coordinate organisationâ€™s legal strategies aimed at addressing the particular needs of American Muslim communities of color. Conduct legal research and analysis; draft and prepare legal memoranda and other legal documents. Contribute to organisationâ€™s racial justice policy and advocacy efforts. Build relationships and identify primary areas of legal advocacy within American Muslim communities of color. Work with organisation staff attorneys and other staff members on trial and appellate litigation in state and federal courts. Conduct interviews with witnesses and potential organisation clients. Create non-legal advocacy materials in support of organisationâ€™s public education and outreach efforts. Must have JD degree. Should have demonstrated commitment to racial justice, protecting civil rights, and addressing issues of inequality. Outstanding research, writing, and verbal communication skills is required.
