VP, Assistant General Counsel - Investment Bank - Securities Services Attorney Duties: Negotiating and drafting complex service agreements, including global custody, fund administration and accounting, collateral management and securities lending agreements, for institutional clients. Advising the business with respect to the development of new products and emerging financial technologies, such as distributed ledger and blockchain. Determining the applicability of regulatory requirements and working with stakeholders, including senior business and control partners, regarding implementation. Ensuring day-to-day support of Securities Services business and functional partners.
Qualification and ExperienceQualifications: JD or educational equivalent. Compliance with all relevant licensing requirements including the requirements of the jurisdiction where the role will be located prior to commencement of employment. 5+ years of experience with a major law firm or equivalent in-house experience. Background in providing legal services to operationally intensive businesses is preferred. Familiarity with US securities laws, ERISA, Investment Company Act of 1940, Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and/or US insurance regulations is a plus. Strong understanding of the interplay between legal and business risk. Ability to understand the business needs and partner with the business and control partners to create solutions. Strong organizational and project management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Pragmatic with excellent business sense. Ability to interact effectively with clients. Strong negotiation and drafting skills. Ability to think outside the box and focus on key points. Ability to work independently, manage complex projects and multitask successfully in fast-paced and complex business environment.
